DATA CIRCLES’ CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY

We are dedicated to providing a positive, harassment free community experience for all our participants regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, immigration status, educational level, work experience, or religion.

We do not tolerate harassment of our community event participants in any form. Participants include attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers and organizers/representatives of the Data Circles community.

Harassment can include offensive verbal/electronic comments related to personal characteristics or choices, sexual language or imagery in public or online spaces, deliberate intimidation, bullying, stalking, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks, IRC chats, electronic meetings, physical meetings or other events, inappropriate physical contact, or unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If any participant engages in harassment, the representatives of the community have the right to take any appropriate action to maintain a welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the offender, expulsion from an event with no refund, removal from mailing lists, electronic communication channels and from the Data Circles meetup group membership. Organizers/representatives of the community may take action to redress anything designed to, or with the clear impact of, disrupting the event or making the environment hostile for any participants.

If you are being harassed or notice someone else being harassed or have any other concerns, please act to intercede or ask for help from any member of Data Circles community, IRC chat admins, website admins, or organizers / representatives of any physical or online events put on under the auspices of Data Circles.
