Join us for our online August Tech Talk "Intro to Reinforcement Learning" with Yayun Jin.

This talk is about the introduction to reinforcement learning. Reinforcement learning (RL) is one of three basic machine learning paradigms, alongside supervised learning and unsupervised learning. This talk will cover RL's characteristics, OpenAI gym, Markov decision process, basic concepts of dynamic programming. It is ideal for any data enthusiasts that are interested to learn about next-level algorithms.

Yayun Jin is Data & Applied scientist at Microsoft since July 2019. Before joining Microsoft, I obtained my Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from NC State University.
Yayun is very passionate and active in supporting and promoting local and online professional technology networking. Outside of work, I love dancing (urban dance, hip-hop, modern dance), playing small musical instruments (ukulele, kalimba), and doodling random cute things. I am also a nature lover and hiking enthusiast, and the summer in Seattle is so charming!

Data Circles (ex 'Seattle Women in Data Science') was founded in February 2018 by Mahnaz Akbari with the intention to create a safe and welcoming space for women in data science to connect and excel together. Although our events are open to everybody, we host only female/non-binary speakers to highlight the role of this group in this field.

Our Mission: Data Circles(https://datacircles.org) is a supportive community that focuses on inspiring and empowering women in data science through professional development, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.

If you would like to volunteer and join our community, please reach out to the event organizers! Or fill in this form:
