Anniversary Celebration: networking and panels w/ Starbucks' VP of Data Science

We have a lot to celebrate! Our community has grown immensely over the past two years and we want to take this night to thank all the mentors, volunteers, and speakers who have donated their time and energy to share their knowledge and strengthen our community. The event will be hosted at Starbucks HQ in SoDo.

We will be starting out the night with a keynote from Starbucks' new vp of data science Elpida Ormanidou https://www.linkedin.com/in/elpida/.

Panel Members:
ERIKA PELAEZ is a data scientist at Amazon with a passion for research, teaching, and deep learning. She started her data science career at a transportation startup in Mexico City. MICHELLE HO is a data scientist at Tableau Software. Previously, she’s been a spatial data scientist for CARTO, a location intelligence and mapping platform, and a technology analyst for the Manhattan District Attorney. She is a graduate of NYU’s Center for Urban Science + Progress (CUSP) program. ELPIDA ORMANIDOU is the new vp of data science at Starbucks. She has over 20 years of experience in data science and people analytics. She's led data science teams at Chico's and Walmart to drive analytical innovation in retail. https://www.linkedin.com/in/elpida

SABA BEYENE is the head of people analytics at American Airlines with broad experience in data and technology. KATE HERTWECK is a bioinformatics training manager at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and leader of fredhutch.io, which instructs members of the Hutch research community in reproducible computational methods.
